Colerain Township, Ohio
BCI assisted Colerain Township in a very interactive process to develop a Master Plan for this underutilized, existing 16 acre park. Several meetings were held in the neighborhood to discuss the project goals and to review alternative concepts. Primary goals included attracting people to use the park to minimize negative activities and to provide a neighborhood gathering place. The final solution included a variety of features including two quality baseball fields, large Boundless Playground, sprayground, picnic shelters, restrooms, perimeter paved walking trail, nature trail, skatepark, basketball court, and additional parking.
During the process the Township decided to acquire an additional five acres to provide improved access to the surrounding neighborhoods. Cost estimates and a phasing plan were prepared to allow for development in phases. The park was complete in September 2010.
