Clippard Park

Colerain Township, Ohio

Budget

$2.4 million

Size

21 acres

Scope

Brandstetter Carroll Inc. assisted Colerain Township in an interactive process to develop a Master Plan for this underutilized 16-acre park. Several meetings were held in the neighborhood to discuss project goals and review alternative concepts. Primary goals included attracting people to use the park to minimize negative activities and provide a neighborhood gathering place. The final solution included a variety of features including two quality baseball fields, large boundless playground, sprayground, picnic shelters, restrooms, perimeter paved walking trail, nature trail, skatepark, basketball court, and additional parking. During the process, the Township decided to acquire an additional five acres to provide improved access to the surrounding neighborhoods. Cost estimates and a phasing plan were prepared to allow for development in phases. Phase I was complete in September 2010.
