Weisiger Park

Danville, Kentucky

BCI designed the redevelopment of this plaza space in Historic Downtown Danville. The original plaza featured a fountain dedicated to the Weisiger Family and featured several historic “Firsts” for which Danville is known.  The new plaza will better accommodate community events such as the Great American Brass Band Festival, art exhibits, concerts, and more with a bandstand and plaza viewing area.  The “firsts” monuments will be restored and reinserted into new pavement.  A pergola will provide shade and a defining edge to the space along Fourth Street. The former fountain perimeter stone ring will be repurposed around a new fountain and a “Water Curtain” will be developed as a backdrop to the stage.   The project will be completed in Summer 2017.
