The Tamarack Camps Master Plan is the result of a massive community participation effort facilitated by the Brandstetter Carroll, Inc. camp planners and architects. The 1,400 acre property in Oakland County, Michigan includes three independently operated camp and retreat facilities. Camp Maas is the largest and hosts the core youth programming for Tamarack Camps. The camp accommodates up to 1,000 campers, counselors, staff, and volunteers in summer resident camp and up to 500 in fall through spring programming including environmental education, day events, and retreat activities. Utilizing the information developed through an intensive and inclusive visioning process, integrating the input of hundreds of campers, families, lay volunteers, and other stakeholders, the planning committee identified the following key objectives for the long term vision for the property.

Camp Seafarer Nature Studies, YMCA of the Triangle
Camp Seafarer has experienced growth in programming and camper attendance and determined that a unique housing environment would best serve the developing nature studies program. A village of three 8 person cabins nestled in a natural wooded area provides a new experience in an previously unexplored area . The village site is secluded but near the main camp core for convenience and sense of security. Campers have a sense of independence and can develop their own programming for the site. .
